Dr. Kuhu Roy writes,
Ramon
crossed over forenoon on November 3, 2025, due to old age, at his own place. A
rarity for a senior stray dog. He was looked after his entire lifetime, a rare
privilege. He was a bully, a brat, the right hand man of his mother, Pharmacy
Laali, in all her endeavours. A life well spent and a dignified farewell. I am
happy. Cremated him (Maa made the arrangements), I am at peace because their
bodies are thrown in the garbage otherwise. I did not shed a tear for him.
Take the news of Shikari’s untimely and violent
death that morning. I am broken. I wanted to get her sterilised and she had
disappeared. She returned heavily pregnant and was a joyous mother. I told her,
"This is the last time you have had pups." She was hit on the head by
a reckless driver. She died. Didn't get to say a bye, forget a dignified end.
A death is a death You just learn to put them into
brackets when the frequency is very high, for the sake of coping and put grief
to good use.
Life goes on and we keep moving forward with the love of those who
crossed over and the precious ones we still have.
