Naina. The
bad and the good news.
Dr. Kuhu Roy writes,
This morning when I was taking Naina to the clinic, I looked
up at the sky and prayed to God. I was not ready for one more loss. Shikari's
untimely and brutal death has been very hard to digest. I wake up and go to bed
with her thoughts. She knows how much her absence is taking a toll on me.
So, here's the bad news. Naina has a tumour in her lung.
She's a super senior stray, I am yet to discuss the treatment options and
prognosis with the vet, but I am told she doesn't have much time and there is
no hope. The good news, her liver function and kidney function is good, she
wants to eat and her eyes have life. I will be taking her home, once she is
stabilized, so that's another good news for me. Then, we will make the most of
whatever time my grand old lady is left with. It could be days and very lucky,
if a few months.
If you are reeling under anticipatory grief, reach out to us for grief support at info@bridgingrainbows.org. This is the golden time to make more memories. I
know, a lot easier said than done, but there is no harm in giving it a try.
Naina will show you how, in the days to come.
