The Bridging Rainbows Foundation (set up in September 2023, although we have been in service for the cause for more than two decades) is a very tiny organization aimed at helping animals and their humans, in fond memory of Butter, the rescued dog who is our forever guiding light. Here's what we were able to do in the preceding year and we welcome your support so that together we can do more in 2026.

*Local*

·         Provided lifetime care (daily food, first aid, on the spot treatment, hospitalization), love and affection to more than 350+ stray dogs in Baroda and spay/neuter + anti rabies vaccination and dignified farewell to those who crossed over

·         Requested the Prime Minister’s Office for a dire need for a credible Animal Birth Control Programme in Baroda

*National*

·         Filed PIL in the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, challenging the Suo Moto Writ Petition concerning the unscientific and inhumane proposition to remove animals from certain spaces

·         ‘Be Kind to Animals’ directive issued by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways in response to #GiveAnimalsaBrake

·         Submitted master plan for the success of the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Programme in India

·         Conceptualized the first research study in India to document the impact of companion animal loss

·         Requested the Union Home Minister’s Office for intervention regarding police inaction concerning violation of ABC Rules, 2023

·         Provided grief support to the bereaved across India

·         Initiated KAP study to assess the awareness about the ABC programme

*International*

·         Presented ‘Pet Loss Grief Support Ecosystem Transcends from India to Global Community’ at the American Psychological Association Summit 2025

·         Provided grief support to the bereaved based in the US, Canada, France, the UK and Japan

PS: We do not draw salaries, almost entirely self funded and do all the work ourselves. We are actively looking for volunteers who can help the cause with their unique skills. You do not have to be necessarily Baroda based to volunteer with us. Email info@bridgingrainbows.org
